Alan Amendola - Ensemble Consultant


Alan began his marching career in 2001 as a member of the trumpet section in the Trumbull High School Marching Band. Upon the fall of 2003, Alan found himself switching to snare drum, and becoming Drum Captain later that season. In 2007, Alan was a proud member of the snare line of the Connecticut Hurricanes Drum & Bugle Corps. Alan currently holds a B.S. in Biology from Southern Connecticut State University in nearby New Haven, CT. He has been back with Trumbull Percussion since 2010.

After graduating from Trumbull in 2005, Alan has worked with many high school percussion ensembles throughout the state of CT. In the fall of 2006, Alan was named Percussion Arranger of the Bethel High School Marching Band in Bethel, CT. In 2007, the percussion section placed 2nd in their class for the first time ever.  Alan has also served as the Snare Tech for the Norwalk High School Marching Band from the winter of 2007 through the fall of 2009. In the winter of 2008, the winter percussion ensemble went on to become a WGI-Finalist twice that winter. Alan also assisted in the arrangement of the percussion book and had a strong hand in the arrangement of the 2009 fall show. In the winter of 2009, the ensemble made their first trip to WGI World Championships in Dayton, Ohio. 

Alan returned to Trumbull High School as the Snare Technician in 2010, and served as Caption Head & Director of Percussion from 2014-2016.  Under his tenure, the ensemble made its 10th and 11th consecutive appearances in Scholastic Open Finals, winning the music caption in 2016 for first time ever.  The fall program also captured the Musical Arts Conference "Outstanding Percussion" trophy all 3 seasons, with the band winning a championship in 2015.

In addition to High School Ensembles, Alan has also worked with the Connecticut Hurricanes, and the PAL Buccaneers Jr. Drum & Bugle Corps. Throughout the month of July, Alan also served as the Percussion Specialist for the Trumbull Summer Music Camp from 2010-2014, where he instructed students from Grades 3 through 12. 

Currently residing in his hometown of Trumbull, CT, Alan is employed at Family Auto Body Inc. in nearby Bridgeport, CT, and is currently attending the University of Bridgeport College of Chiropractic, where he is earning his D.C. degree.  He is a proud member of the Vic Firth Education Team, and endorses Vic Firth Sticks & Mallets!
